Forever....

See, this project was just like every single New Year's Resolution I've made. But, I took this pic a few weeks ago and I played with it and I love it.  This is my son chillin in the shade waiting for Mel's wedding to begin. Jim was the best man.

Are you seriously going to take my picture?
I'm going to try to work on the picture a day thing again. I really need something uplifting to focus on in my life. I'm hoping to find my love of photography again. I know it's in there somewhere.

Sabbatical

The last 2 months has been very difficult for our family. The first of januray I threw my back out and couldn't function. Then on Feb 3 I had a LAVH Hysterectomy which put me down for quite a while. Then the end of February, Jim's little brother committed suicide and it's been so difficult for the family to deal with and all the things that needed to be done.

So, yesterday Jim was helping his parents on their arch barn. Physics dictate that a strait ladder leaning against the inside of an arch isn't going to have much to stop you if you start to slip. So last night Jim got to go to the ER for falling 12 feet onto concrete. Apparently nothing is broken but we don't know how. So this is how Jim spend time today while taking it easy.
Isis kept him busy. and entertained. She's such a cute puppy. If I was sure she wasn't going to pee in my house, I'd totally let her sleep in my bed.

I've Decided...

That it's not cheating if you didn't take the picture THAT DAY. Seriously--right now everything is under 3 feet of snow and it's all the same...everywhere I look. So, I'm going to post pictures I've taken in the past that I like. My project, my rules.

I want to know why there is no instant replay or coaches challenge in 5th grade football. I mean, I had all the evidence they needed right there--Damn Broncos anyway.

And this one, just because it's green and has summer written all over it.

Eh, I Cheated Again....

Didn't feel like taking a picture today so I'll just post an old one that I love.

The Blizzard of 2010

Such an insane amount of snow this year.

Oh Yeah!

Who's the Rock Star Baby!!

Yep, this is what every mother should be doing after work instead of cooking, cleaning, laundry, reading to her children, knitting leper bandages....

I played "The Summer of '69" on the medium level (not the wussie Super Easy Level) on Lego Rock Band and didn't miss a single note. Not going to mention how many tries it took, suffice it to say, I have

I got my first real six-string--bought it at the five & dime--played it til my fingers bled--was the summer of 69!!!

running through my mind like crazy right now.

The "Photo of the Day" thing is on hiatus for a few days. I don't feel good.

Oh My!!

This came in the mail today--Nostalgia has flooded me like nothing else. Since I can't sit for more than 15 minutes at a time, I didn't get to play hardly at all, but the music was so mahvelous!

I can only hope my kids will be as addicted to it as I was. Go Mario!

Ah! Domesticicity!

She's cooking--And she did her own laundry today. I figure in a short while, I can sit back, eat bon bons and let her do all the work. She's such an awesome kid.

Whatchoo Lookin' At?

So I Cheated...

And I feel awful about it, too. I just couldn't come up with a picture from TODAY to post when all I did all day was lay around and yell at my kids--oh, I did try to make up for my husband's lousy birthday and made him a cake, but still....

So, today's picture is actually from 2004. I just really like it. This door is gone, I wish I had thought to onfescate it when I had the chance.

Lame

I'm lame, and I'm not just talking about my inability to walk right now. My "Photo A Day" is lame. I can't think of anything good to take a picture of, so just to say I did it, I snap a picture of whatever is in front of me. Hence today's loverly offering.
It's just a picture of Peyton doing his homework, rather dull and boring so I ran a funky photoshop filter on it to make it appear like I did something. Nah, just pushed a button. But, I really hope as soon as I'm back among the mobile, things will pick up here.

Jim's Birthday

Well, it's Jim's birthday today--and my nephew Soren's birthday. I didn't do squat for either of them. I feel like a horrible wife & aunt. In my defense though, I went to the chiropractor and I have a bulged disk. No wonder it hurts like crazy.

So, once again, my picture today is just a "whatever" shot. I really hope to get mobile again soon and be able to actually go out and take some creative shots.

I love these things. They're like crack for me. Two years ago for Christmas my addiction was so bad that I received THREE electronic versions of Sudoku. Two of them didn't work well, and I used the third one so much that I think Jim was going to go postal on it because I'd be doing puzzles while he was trying to talk to me. And if you know Jim, you MUST pay attention. I might miss that all important piece of information about a four core radiator or something.

So, I threw it away. Since then, I've downloaded Sudoku for my cell phone and Peyton got me another electric one for Christmas again this year. I still like the paper version, though. It's easier to work through the options. So, for today, this is what I like and thought about.

Back In Action

So, I had grand plans for posting a picture a day for a year. Well, my computer went on the fritz the on January 1, 2010 I have to do one post to catch up.

These pics aren't exciting artistically. I threw my back out on Jan 1, 2010 so I've been pretty much bed bound since then and it's just exciting that I actally took a picture a day to post.

So, for today's post January 5, 2010 (Happy Birthday Mom)

One of the coolest inventions ever--thanks Stacy for thinking of me.

Then yesterday, while hopped up on pain meds and muscle relaxers due to an unfortunate incident with my dog and discipline, I made these beauties

This next photo I took with my cell phone so the quality is crappy at best. This is the vital statistics machine they used while I was in the ER on Sunday. I hurt my back on Friday, but I thought it would get better and it was no big deal. By Sunday, I couldn't move. I had to crawl out of the bathroom on my hands and knees crying and begging for help to get my drawers back up. Not pretty.

So, since I've spent some quality time lying around, I thought I'd post a pic of the things I'm currently reading. Maybe at some point I'll do a book review of them. Hah!

And, I don't care what else is going on in your life, this can make things feel a lot better--for the 5 minutes you take to eat it, then it makes you feel like a beached lardbutt whale for the next 5 hours. But, oh, those 5 minutes.....

So, for the initial Picture of the Day post--I posted 5. I got my computer back and I can almost sit for longer than 3 minutes at a time.
